About Us Ron & Linda Harris say people shouldn't have to give up gardening when their knees go out or their backs ache, so they created A Garden 4 U to sell the raised bed gardens Ron's created. Ron & Linda's raised beds sit waist high atop cedar posts and are now for sale to help those who can't or would rather not garden on their knees. Ron says his raised beds have a "Northwest Flavor" "The seniors are really one of my focus markets because I'm a senior too and and I know the issues with sore backs and knees," says Ron, who is 72. After participating in the Anacortes “Eat Your Yard” Program in 2009, Ron planted his first-ever organic vegetable garden in the front yard. Linda adds "Gardening quickly became
a new-found serious hobby for my 70-plus year old retired husband, and I
was thrilled to serve as harvester and enthusiastic consumer of Ron’s
many successes. We definitely
understood, first-hand, how much a garden has to offer"! This led
to Ron experimenting with four different prototypes for a raised bed
planter over the winter until he was satisfied he had a built-for-stout
model to share with other interested gardeners who may not have yard space
or the ability to spend a lot of time on hands and knees. With the birth
of A GARDEN 4 YOU, we
hope we have opened a door for many more to share in the fun of a
convenient garden.
